Austin Butler’s Accent During His Golden Globes Speech Has Twitter Still Shocked

Austin Butler, a Golden Globe winner, is the only person who is more dedicated to the role.

The actor received his first Golden Globe tonight for Best Actor in a Dramatic Motion Picture, honouring his ground-breaking work as Elvis Presley, the movie’s title character and the King of Rock and Roll. Butler thanked his family, co-stars, and—of course—Elvis Presley in a heartfelt acceptance speech, but Twitter users couldn’t help but notice that he was still using the same Southern drawl from the 2022 movie.

Someone joked on Twitter, “I just think it’s so awesome that austin butler endured utter ego death for a baz luhrmann joint.” Another person remarked, “Why does Austin Butler sound like George W. Bush?
Backstage, Butler addressed the uproar around his brand-new voice, according to Nate Jones of Vulture. He reportedly said, “I don’t think I sound much like him, but I’ve heard it enough that I guess it’s real,” likening it to a person who picks up a new accent while living in a different country. “It’s now part of my DNA.”
The funniest Twitter responses to Butler’s speech and new voice are included here.
Butler thanked Luhrmann and co-star Tom Hanks for their assistance on site during his victory speech. “I owe this to a fearless, innovative director who gave me the opportunity to take risks and who I always felt would be there to back me. My dear Baz Luhrmann, “said he. “I appreciate you believing in me when I wasn’t even sure I believed in myself. I’m really appreciative of you. Additionally, I want to thank Mr. Tom Hanks, who was the best dance partner I could have ever dreamed for.”

Additionally, he paid tribute to the late Presley, saying, “Last but not least, Elvis Presley, you are a legend and a renegade. I adore you a lot. I’m grateful. I’ll always remember you, so please know that I appreciate it.”
