The First Child of Naomi Osaka Is Expecting: “A Little Life Update”

Naomi Osaka will soon become a mother! The tennis player confirmed her first pregnancy on Instagram on January 11. She posted a picture of her ultrasound with, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.”
Osaka made her declaration one week after she made the decision to skip the 2023 Australian Open. The last few years have been, to put it mildly, fascinating, but I find that the periods in life that are the most difficult can also be the most enjoyable. “I truly have a newfound passion and appreciation for the sport I have devoted my entire life to as a result of these few months away from it. I am aware of how brief life is, therefore I don’t take anything for granted. A new blessing and experience await you every day.”
The expectant mother stated that she really anticipates the day when she will be able to share her passion for tennis with her child. She continued, “I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my baby to watch one of my matches and say to someone, “That’s my mom,” laughing. She also expressed excitement about returning to the court the following year. “I want to see you folks in the beginning of the next year because I’ll be in Australia in 2024. 2023 will be a year full of lessons for me. You all have my undying love.” Osaka delivered the same statement in Japanese on the following slide.

Osaka has been dating Cordae as of 2019. The couple’s love life has been largely under wraps ever since they made their romance public. They were seen standing next to one other on the Met Gala red carpet in September 2021. Osaka congratulated Cordae on the debut of his sophomore album, “From a Birds Eye View,” a few months later, in January 2022.

Osaka continued, “Sidenote: I don’t think there’s a completely flawless road to pursue in life but I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions you’ll find your way eventually.” Osaka published her children’s book, “The Way Champs Play,” in December.
